Assessment and Reporting Arrangements(ARA) contain the statutory information and guidance on all aspects of National Curriculum assessment and reporting for the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 and 2. They cover topics such as administering the tests, access arrangements, teacher assessment and reporting pupils’ achievements to parents.
The ARAs are updated and sent to schools and local authorities every year. The EYFS and Key Stage 1 ARAs can be downloaded from the Department of Education Assessment and reporting arrangements webpage. The Key Stage 2 ARA will also be available shortly.
If you are responsible for assessment and reporting in either the Early Years Foundation Stage or any of the key stages it is important that you read the appropriate ARA and are aware of any changes from the previous year.
An ARA for the Year 1 phonics screening check will be available in January 2012.
